ORIGIN STORY

Mark Goodman, the creator, founder, and visionary, who thought it would be a good idea to ride 22 miles while consuming 11 hot dogs along the way was initially inspired, by none other than....The Durham Library!

Having a new baby boy ( Jacob ) in the family hindered Mark from partaking in the "Dog Days of Summer" put on by Durham County and in the fall of that year he convinced a few friends that it would be a good idea to ride around Durham eating dogs along the way. The only plans were a meeting place, a time, and a loose route but by the end of the day (which was well after sunset) there were grandiose ideas and dreams of the next ride, all brought on by insane amounts of sodium levels in their bloodstream.
